Actually, the Neighborhoods sold out its last two out-of-retirement gigs in RI (this gig would be in Boston, but any Hoods involvement is TBD). I wish the Cavedogs would play, but Mark's last I knew was out in LA (he wrote the score for Lucky Louie and does other soundtrack work these days) and I think the other guys are elsewhere in the US. They did one reunion about five or six years ago, sold out the Paradise, and killed it. Tom, if you're reading this, I should mention that we also tried to revive your ace push on Big Dipper, but they wouldn't commit, unfortunately.
Coat of Arms played a couple of shows in the past year or show in Providence, but I didn't catch them. I did see What Now do a one-off at the Living Room last fall, believe it or not.
This particular gig (shameless plug time) that we're working on will definitely include Boston vets The Outlets (who have a second "new" record in the works) and Band 19, as well as Clouds (a new local band in the heavy vein that is an offshoot of Cave In; their record on Hydrahead is badass), films, food, and maybe another surprise or two. is it's the 30th anniversary party for the Late Risers Club on WMBR FM (I've been the show's producer since 1998, fwiw). I think at this point, even the older bands have been active long enough that it won't stink too much of nostalgia. Of course, the fact that the Hoodoo Gurus are playing that night across the river will create an even bigger Boston babysitter shortage.
