I'm pretty psyched about Neil Numberman's book.  That's awesome.

OK, so I've been harassing the shit out of everyone about this on Twitter and FB, so apologies if I'm getting irritating.  But I'm nervous that no one will bid on my item because (1) there are 700 writers involved with this thing and (2) 675 of them are more famous than me (which is to say, famous at all).

I'm part of an online writing experiment called Significant Objects, orchestrated by the NY Times' Rob Walker
and Hermenaut's Joshua Glenn.  Here's their description:

"A talented, creative writer invents a story about an object. Invested with new significance by this fiction, the object should — according to our hypothesis — acquire not merely subjective but objective value.  How to test our theory? Via eBay!"

Here's my story:
http://significantobjects.com/2009/07/28/dome-doll/

The Dome Doll is for sale here, with a starting bid of 99 cents. Auction lasts a week:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250473609751#ht_528wt_1167

I get whatever money is raised, but the average sale price so far has been under $20.  So I'll buy you a beer with it.

Here's some press:

And a lot more here:

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Hey, everybody.  I'm trying to get my "humor" blog off the ground and I'd love for my fellow FOTs to check it out.  There's the occasional lapse into turlet talk, but it's mostly clean.

I'm also on the Twitter, so if you dig it feel free to help a ninja out & follow me @brainhangblog

Also, Tom - if you're reading this - I now realized I should have shamelessly asked theBestShow twitter accnt to follow me, not you personally.  Please forgive.

DAY JOB: I work for a company that makes accounting software.  I'm also in charge of writing the instruction manuals no one reads.  For our latest version, I was able to sneak in a few Best Show references.  Check it out (you may need to squint)...

I love this; I somehow missed that you were also a musician. Remember when Tom said "it's not rock and roll" about Steely Dan? He could never say that about this. My favorite is Eat Your Lunch.

Midblink.com, the website that was generated out of a brainstorm on this very forum, just got a nice write-up in tonic.com.  Granted, the writer is a friend of mine (Kirk Bromley. Jason G., I believe you know him).  But nice press nonetheless.

By the way, anyone who has some "mid-blink" photos to contribute to the site, please help out. Thanks!
