So was it the most insane thing you've seen in quite some time or what? I ranted about Jay Reatard on at least one other thread, but god damn, the last time he came through Cambridge he (backed by the Boston Chinks) was furious.

The show at Cake Shop in NYC last night was one of the best 18-minute performances I have witnessed. Anyone going to Maxwell's?

I love every bit of his 20 minutes or less sets.

hey, I was there! If you were the dude in the wfmu shirt I said "hey nice shirt" to you

I was at the Brooklyn show last night too and I gotta say that Jay Reatard

New York people take note -
He's playing Mercury Lounge the 18th,
Galapagos in Brooklyn the 19th
and of course, Maxwell's the 20th.

I'll be at Maxwell's, and probably one of the other shows too.
Let's get a psuedo meet up going.

I'll be at either Galapagos in Brooklyn on the 19th or Maxwell's on the 20th. I'm not sure yet. Maybe both.

That 20 minute set kind of surprised me. I'd only listened to the Lost Sounds album and the new Jay Reatard album so I didn't know much about the live show. I don't think it needed to be any longer though and it could have been 45 minutes if they dicked around in the middle of songs. They're all business.

I'm going to try and see this guy even though he hates the mentally challenged.  In forty minutes.  Who's with me?  I may have to buy cigarettes.

Oh, I'm seeing him at the echo in l.a.

Awesome!  My buddy Max will be there.  He's the guy who had the controversial Bill Murray basketball anecdote a year or two ago...

Hopefully I'll see y'all there!
