A Ramones biopic with Vincent Chase cast as Joey.

"Rock the Casbah" isn't as much of anomaly as it seems - it's just been so decontextualized by its life as a pop hit that it's sometimes hard to see it as part of the bigger Clash picture.

Like my Puerto Rican friend who thought it was "Rock the Cash Bar".
"Alright, well, for the sake of this conversation, let's say the book does not exist."

Wowzers.  Maybe it's time for some old dirty squatters to make a million dollars suing the pants off a youth ministry!
Now write me a receipt so I can tip on outta here...

As long as everyone's Clash-reviving, maybe Tom could review the new Joe Strummer doc. It's required reading, people.

Since Awesome Show is back, a Tim and Eric interview would be .. uh ... awesome.  Guess that's more an interview request than a review request, but still ...

I'd like to hear Tom review the Harry Smith Anthology of Folk Music. I guess I don't know if he's a fan, but I love when he goes after the sacred cows and that's a pretty hefty cow.

Is "holy guacamole" a back-formation from "holy moly"?  Or is the latter simply a short form of the former?

I'd like Tom to review the Las Vegas Comedy Festival that I'm guessing, based on his latest blog entry, he may be attending?
I'd especially like to know:

a) If Ellen got booed for being a union-buster.
b) If Dana Gould was indeed the funniest person there.
c) Anything at all about the Steven Schirripa Vegas Va-Voom Variety Spectacular
d) Anything about Blue Collar Comedy: The Next Generation.
e) If Kevin Nealon still does his forty-year-old Caricature Drawing Bit.  (it's funny because he can't draw!)

Tom,

If you are going forward with the James Bond thing, I'd recommend reading at least one of the books. Moonraker was a terrible movie but was actually one of the better novels. The opening is great. The funny thing about the books is how much he drinks. If anyone consumed as much liquor as James Bond does in the books, they would pass out face first. I'm surprised no one has written the drunk James Bond skit yet.

I am in the vocal minority that would place one hit wonder, George Lazenby, at the top of the pyramid in the trivial competition of "Best Bond." Having read the books, he accurately summed up the Bond character as a "chivalrous bastard." There's a great little moment near the beginning of On Her Majesty's Secret Service where he's being guided at gunpoint by some goons to meet some mastermind: as he passes by a little office half gate/door he flips it back and half-heartedly tries to hit one of the goons in the knee.

Casino Royale was defnitely the least cartoony of the series. Hopefully they continue along those lines.

Cheers,
Super Nerd
