I had this all typed up a couple of days ago and didn't post it because I didn't want to seem dense.  I've stopped caring about that:

How the fuck do vegans sustain themselves?  And I'm not talking about getting enough protein, I'm talking about eating when you're not at home (or on the road, whatever the case may be)  It's got to be fucking difficult.  I'm thinking it might be impossible here in Oklahoma.

I gave up meat for lent a couple of years ago and it almost killed me.  I've never eaten so many bean burritos and cheese pizzas.

My girlfriend is able to do it... She weighs 95 lb.s  Unless you cook (and love cooking) it's nigh impossible.  She makes dinner sometimes and it usually tastes pretty good, but it takes her all afternoon.

What are you, bragging?

But TVD's 10th post is this:

Stan actually quoted Josh's 552nd.

I am confused.  Yet again.

Not bragging, just saying she's  not a healthy weight.  Gettin' a lot of hostility on these boards, everyone's gotta start somewhere, right?

Now where do you think all that hostility comes from?

No hostility here, TVD.  Don't see why you'd deserve any, regardless of your association with James/Poughkeepsie.  And I agree that your girlfriend is too thin--a point I didn't realize you were making until you spelled it out, since you also claim that she "sustains" herself.  Apparently, you meant "just barely."

My mom's about 95lbs. But she's only 4'11.

Maybe friend of james is dating a teeny tiny lady

Not really.  She's pretty tiny, though.

Yeah, I was going to qualify what I said but then didn't bother, since TVD seems to think she's too thin, and presumably he wouldn't feel this way if she were short and bird-boned.

I'm sorry for getting hot under the collar about this, but this is just silly.  It's not "nigh impossible" at all - I've been vegetarian for 20 years, and vegan for the last ten of them, and obviously not cooking myself every friggin' meal in that time; and if I haven't been personally weighing in on this, it's just that I'm a little tired of talking about it - especially around the holidays.  So please forgive me, also, for that.  But ultimately, it's a really simple equation: things to eat = everything except animal products, and it works really well for me.
