He was jerkins in that one episode.

See, I would've gone with, "I enjoy jerkin it to The Tudors." Oh, JRH, you are so fine.

He's so pretty he sort of gives me the creeps.  And his acting in The Tudors is absolutely atrocious.

Who cares about his acting? Have you seen his lips? Besides, I really loved him in Velvet Goldmine.

That's why you are Filthy and I am Buff...y.

Also I was talking about the one episode where he is literally doing that for what seems like 10 uncomfortable minutes.  Although a lady friend of mine assures me that the scene is viewed differently by the ladies.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Any awkwardly worded couplet of mine is an awkwardly worded couplet of yours if you want it, TL.

You must/would like Mel Odom, Laurie.  JRM looks like one of his.  Or like something imagined by one of nem Pre-Raphaelites, I suppose.

Hence, "I enjoy jerkin it to The Tudors, especially during that scene."

What do ladies "jerk?"  I didn't take high school anatomy, but I thought I had... ahem... enough hard-earned (ha!) knowledge of the landscape to know that nothing of the sort... err... what was I saying again?

It's just a colloquial thing. For example, know a lot of girls who use the word "boner," as in, "I have a total boner for JRM." I usually use the word boner to describe my relationship with various things I love, but not in a sexy way. As an example, I have been known to say that I have a boner for Mario Kart N64, the best incarnation of Mario Kart ever.

I've also heard the term "she-rection," but I don't use that to refer to my lady parts. And women do get very tiny erections. Technically.

Oh man, I can't believe I'm humoring you with a response, Buff... y.

Appreciated, though you're right... not strictly required.  More information on clitori can be found on the Internet.

You mean the World Wide Internet?  Where!?
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I think Meyers was a'ight in Velvet Goldmine.  His singing isn't bad on those Craig Wedren-penned numbers.  Ewan didn't fair as well, but you can't really ask anyone to imitate Iggy Pop and expect them to pull it off.  Imitating David Bowie, on the other hand, not so tall of an order.

Grote - google "more information on licorice can be found on the internet."  It could open up a whole new world of snark to you.  Or not.  See if I care.

I stand by what I said!  I admit I could have picked a better representative of the music sequences than "Ballad of a Thin Man" but there is a reference included in that scene that Tom didn't mention that I thought was clever.

If the concept of the movie sounds good to you, I'd say you'll most likely find it delivers.  I thought it was made with a lot of enthusiasm and not just geared toward pompous "Dylan-ologists," although you probably do have to be a fan to get into it.  Might help if you're a Fellini fan as well, since the Cate Blanchett stuff is almost as reminiscent of 8 1/2 as Don't Look Back.
