Lady Who Was "Disappointed"
« on: December 12, 2007, 01:01:48 PM »
I think maybe there was a miscommunication there, it sounded like she wanted to add to the topic in a good way and maybe English wasn't her first language. I was listening, going "Whoa, Tom hold on".

Fixed (No Country For Old Men-style).

Honestly, that sounded like a phony accent.

If it wasn't, she deserves to have her wrist slapped for not recognizing that with her grasp of the language she really shouldn't be calling a radio show.  She doesn't have to know how to speak English, but she should have had the wit not to bother the Kid.

If it was a put-on, she deserves to have her face slapped.

"Alright, well, for the sake of this conversation, let's say the book does not exist."

How about "Speak intelligibly, or GET OFF MY PHONE!" (notice I don't suggest, "Speak intelligently . . .").

Note:  I realize I risk being branded a xenophobe here, and I don't deserve the label.  I simply know that when I've been in a foreign country, if I couldn't communicate clearly in the native language, I wouldn't inflict my ineptitude on others--at least, not unless I absolutely had to.

No, I also bought it. I swear, I heard Moldova instead of Molvania. The dude wearing the mullet wig and fake mustache is an Australian comedian. I imagine his lady friend on the keytar is also Australian. I'm sad it's not real. :( Almost as sad as the day my JEM! Kimber Keytar broke. Actually, I was outraged more than I was sad. Truly, truly outraged.
