Sorry Dave. I meant equal time in the colloquial sense, so I probably should have said something like "more 'equal time' for the things he loves."

"I'm sorry, what was the topic again...?"

"There's really only one topic on this show. It's called, Complain."

Nope, what you said originally--"more equal time"--was perfectly correct.  DfK just misread.

Well, all time is created equal, but some time is more equal than others.

Not at all what I meant, as I suspect you know.  "Equal time" is a standard expression.  "More" was functioning adjectivally to modify it.  DfK instead understood "more" as an adverb modifyiing "equal," used adjectivally to modify the noun "time."  Some writers, especially British ones, especially fifty or more years ago, would have avoided ambiguity by hyphenating "equal time."  Of course back then "equal time" might have been a new enough expression that quoting it would have been justifiable, which also would have removed all confusion.  But for pscan to quote it now would give the impression that it was being used in a sense other than that which has become standard and thus doing so would merely add another layer of murk.

Sorry about that.  Just doing some warm-up exercises before getting to work.  And since Jason has already declared this thread silly, I figure a little pointless pedantry will fit right in.

Tom's praise of NCfOM was actually somewhat muted.  One of my fave positive film riffs from 2007 was Tom's love of Zodiac considering his previous attacks on Fincher's Fight Club

Okay, moreso Javier Bardem's Sonics-esque hairstyle.

I explained to Christina The Yes fan what lolcats are last night, and I showed her some examples.  She got creeped out, and so did I (just like when I first learned about them via Filthy Laurie)

I really do wish Tom would talk more about dogs, though.  I love dogs, and I love the way Tom talks about them.  His respect for them is so apparent:  whenever he finds out that a caller has one, he asks its name.  And remember when he would talk to people's dogs over the radio?  I bet if that drunk woman had been less snockered last week, he would have been happy to let her dog have its moment in the Best Show sun.
