Saw George Saunders read last night
« on: January 18, 2008, 12:37:09 PM »
The Brooklyn Academy of Music, which is about 10 blocks away from us, has these dinner-and-a-reading things.  It was awesome.  The food was good, we were sat with a nice older couple from South Orange, NJ, which was weird at first but they turned out to be totally sweet, and Mr. Saunders was a class act.  He's a great reader and speaker, and as I predicted he looks exactly like how I imagine Dave from Knoxville when he calls.  Good times.  See him read if you can.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

One of my favorite contemporary writers.  He cares so much about his characters.

I saw Colonel Saunders read the other night.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
