Looking for a place in DC from May through August: help FOTs!
« on: February 27, 2008, 12:26:39 PM »
So, I'm going to be working in DC at a law firm this summer, as a summer associate.

I am looking for a place to stay from mid May to mid August.

I am a quiet teetotaler with pretty tame hobbies:  Best Show, Macs, books, music nerdism.  I am also engaged (fiancee will be staying behind in Boulder for the summer with dog and cat), so it's not like I'll be out partying and looking for babes and whatnot.

If any DC-area FOTs have or know of a place within walking distance of the orange or blue line, please send me a PM.

Thanks.

I can't help you, but I am jealous of you - I'm looking for summer associateships up there too.

Doesn't the diplomatic corps receive hardship pay for working in D.C. in the summer?

I was there last summer, working for free for a public interest place, and trying to scrape together enough money for a bologna sandwich from various grants and private loans, while my fiancee was left at home having to take care of the animules.  But the quality of jobs you can get in DC makes it worth it.

This summer will be much easier by comparison.

Samir, I lucked into being hooked into this firm, but I can say that there are always *unpaid* jobs for the picking.
