It's an amazing example of duality, but this book could be used as punishment.

i see where you're coming from. a lot of people used to discount the book as bad writing because of Victor being such a total Dickweed, but i think it's a lot more likely that Shelley was criticizing victorian men. victor's hilariously lame and inopportune panoramic descriptions of nature are (i would argue, anyway) intentionally so. i think the characters are intentionally thin and stupid, except of course, the monster.

Girl Scout Cookies! I almost started a whole other thread for this. Samoas/Caramel Delights are like cookie crack. I like a few thin mints every year but I'm not so hooked on those. I can handle one or two Do-si-Dos then they grow tiresome. I do not care for Cinnaspins, Tagalongs, All-Abouts, Lolligaggers, Pitter-Patters, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Cremes or Flibbertigibbets.

For anyone living outside the realm of the Girl Scouts of America. Every year as a fundraiser the Girl Scouts of America send their legions into the streets to sell cookies that are available to order once a year. You can either pre-order them or purchase them from a cookie-monger on busy street corners or outside Grocery stores. Which ever girl scout sells the fewest cookies is kicked out of their troop.

I was so mad that they quit making the lemon crème cookies.

also, its weird how they have different names in different parts of the country.  samoans are called caramel d'lights here.

YEAH!

Those are the peanut butter ones, right?  Also, thin mints.  Yes, I like to put them in my freezer.  I know that might not be "cool" to all you Girl Scout cookie snobs, but I'm going to own it.

Damn, it's hard for me to get those.  A couple of years ago I taught on the Douglass College campus and some sorority was selling them in the student center, but I haven't seen them around since.  I'm guessing that there are Girl Scouts in Brooklyn, but that the cookies get sold by parents at work rather than door-to-door.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Hells yeah!

Though, to be honest, I haven't really made much of an effort on my end (though how would one go about that?  Send out a mass email asking if anyone knows any Girl Scouts?).  I'd feel bad asking.

There's usually somebody selling them outside Walmart on Saturdays when I'm walking by. Walmart lets groups like that set up shop outside their doors so it's a good bet that you can get them there without even having to order.

I dunno, I miss the cookies, but not having a Wal-Mart anywhere near me is kinda worth the trade-off.

You can't escape them in MN unless you're in the heart of Minneapolis or secluded in the country. I'm sure that's the way it is everywhere though. I like Walmart better than Target though. One treats their workers like crap and the other treats their customers like crap. Walmart actually fits the theme of this topic for me.

There is a Target within walking distance from me, but I avoid it if I can.  Once or twice a year there will be something like vacuum cleaner bags that I don't know where to find, so I'll just go there, and usually leave with a case of cat food.  Oh, and I've had so many DVD players break that I usually just go there and get the cheapest-ass replacement that I can.

Count me in the "you're nuts" camp as well. Butterfly rules.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

so is it the tagalong (chocolate and peanut butter) or dosido's (peanut butter crème sandwiches) that are supposed to be so good?
