Yesterday at work we were talking about the powerball and what we would do with gobs of money etc. etc. But we stumbled across a fun discussion: If you could pay any band one million dollars to play your backyard/basement apartment who would it be? After much thought I said Daft Punk (and no it was not inspired by the LCD Sound System song) because I don't think I'll ever get a chance to see them live, it would be an instant party and you get a lot of show for the money.

Anyone have any dream shows?

Rush. The co-host on my podcast is Canadian and I give him a hard time. He H A T E S Rush with a passion, where as I, having grown up white trash in Wisconsin in the 70s/80s find them amusing. I'd throw a birthday party for him and he would have no recourse but to finally admit his love for his countrymen.

I'd also have Greg Norton cater the thing.

RADIOHEAD.

Seeing them live in Charlotte May 9.  I tried to see them a few years ago in Centerville, VA but got RAINED OUT.

My choice for this question is ca. 1984 REM.

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

this site for a production company actually gives you a bunch of bands' prices... albeit just bands that do college tours. so i guess you could put together a whole music/comedy festival with that million dollars.

I was on my way to that same show when we had to turn around and go home.

A Diamonda Galas/Mike Patton show may be worth dropping $1,000,000 on, if I had enough millions that I wouldn't miss that million.
