I'm excited to see the part when they enroll Thomas Paine into the Revolutionary army just to call him "Major Paine." That happened, right? Well, it happened in my awesome historical fan fiction version.

I'm obsessed with this miniseries. I think it's terrible and boring, but I can't stop watching it. My whole thing with it is that I liked it better when it was a musical called "1776."

"John, you're obnoxious and disliked!"

I don't want to spoil too much, but Paine does come up in a later episode as the prospect of the 1796 election begins to loom. Adams asks Thomas Pinckney who he thinks might join Jefferson on a Democratic-Republican ticket and Pinckney, apparently ignoring the fact that he was jailed in France at the time, answers: "My prediction? Paine!"

Also, Thomas Pinckney is played by Mr. T in the mini-series.

Wes, I have no words nor emoticons to express how this post makes me feel. This emoticon will suffice:  :-* :-* :-*

I feel the same way about Ms Klausner's post above mine. Please share more broadway reviews and historical fan fiction (as long as it's not slash fiction involving the weird looking guy from New York and anyone else. Ew.)

I hope Button Gwinnett has a role in this. He's my favorite founding father. If you don't know what he looks like, I suggest imagining what a man named Button looks like. Then search for Button Gwinnett via Google Image search. You may be surprised!

George Washington was woefully miscast. I hated David Morse in the promos for Hack:

I hate his face!

I can't wait to debate the merits of Dream On, now there is a show that holds up really well.

I don't understand anything that's been said in this thread, but I love it.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
