Rock "Operas"?
« on: March 28, 2008, 01:46:51 PM »
From the late 60s / early 70s. Been listening to a lot of them recently:

Tommy (The Who)
SF Sorrow by (Pretty Things)
Odessa (Bee Gees)
A Teenage Opera (Mark Wirtz)

Any other recommendations?

Quadrophenia is great, no matter what Richard Nixon said.

I still have a soft spot for The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

Does Jeff Wayne's War of the World's count?
If it doesn't, it should.

Can we open this up to include "concept albums"?

If you scratch the whole "rock" conceit: Prince Paul's A Prince Among Thieves. Brilliant. Even Everlast sounds great on it!
