I'd like to add:

-how anyone can still think that a pair of black plastic framed glasses gives them some sort of indie cred.

-why the ladies (in my opinion) still get +4 sexy points for wearing them.

absolutely!..."i dont get it".  on (sort of) that same note, i dont get "indie" blockbusters: little miss sunshine, garden state, juno, across the universe-

im not against the movies per se, or the people who see them or enjoy them.  i just dont get it.

the tv program "lost" specifically - but i'm extending that to pretty much any serial-type show that requires weekly viewing. i don't think there's anything wrong with it/them - but i just don't get it..

i'm also going to second radiohead (someone mentioned them already.) cool enough band - seem like nice guys and all. or maybe not. i don't know them.. i liked when they made rock music ("the bends") as opposed to suicide-inducing disco music (every album after "the bends.") i think they're talented and i know people love 'em - but i don't get it.

Two and a Half Men. It's a show I expected to last five minutes that has become a primetime cornerstone. I've never watched it and really don't want to. Why does it exist? I don't get it?

-Sleater-Kinney

I only like 'The Woods', which is the least Sleater-Kinney-ey of all of them. It's the aural equivalent of 'Mission Impossible 3', which came out the same year, and I must say I very much enjoyed. All the pre-'Woods' stuff, though, I don't care for.

There's nothing to get. Boondock Saints is a horrible movie. I don't often come right out and say a movie is across the board awful, but Boondock Saints is a bad, bad movie.

How is Facebook fun, again? I just signed up, and it's like a Busy Box for adults. You know the little panels with loads of buttons, knobs and buzzers that don't do anything? You sit a baby in front of it and they click and button push happily for hours? If that baby was "poking" and Zombie Fighting with no one, it would be Facebook.

Secondededed.

Facebook or Myspace for people over the age of 25 who aren't selling and/or promoting something.

I don't get it.
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

I don't get the New Pornographers either.

Wilco, I sort of get. But they just aren't all that.

I propose  "________ isn't all that" as a variant on this topic. It's for artists/people/things that you sort of understand and respect ... but are they really deserving of the avalanche of veneration and awe and critical huzzahs?

Prime example: Bruce Springsteen. Very respectable career. Treats his fans well. But is he really all that?

Has anyone heard that band Health? I saw them play earlier this year. I dont get them. For noise music, they are to the Boredoms what Sum 41 is to Bad Religion. What a bunch of twerps.

It means alot to hear that. Boondock fans tend to get a little aggressive and make you think that the problem is you.

"But what about Willam Dafoe?!?!" Yeah? What about him?

I love him, but he knows how to pick the shittiest movies. At least Nick Cage picks shitty movies that will pay him enough to not read his reviews. Does Dafoe have a sick compulsion to try to save the worst script that gets sent to him?
