There is a Waffle House I went to once that was the cheapest place ever.  Cash only--though of course they had a $3 charge ATM on site.  Huge warnings that they would not let you get the specials to go--they are for dine-in only.  Finally, if you sat in a seat, even if only to accompany someone, you had to buy something, and not just coffee.  Just coffee was not good enough; you were required to either pay for two cups or buy some food.

there's a coffee shop in memphis, CK's, that is cash only and serves well after drinking or when you cant sleep but youre too lazy to cook.  ive never had a problem with it.

not to mention it's super cheap.

Overheard at a party during my college days:

We are talking about the International House of Pancakes and not the International House of Prayer, right?  There was an article on the latter in the paper this morning.  Hoo, boy.

You got it here: http://comicvsaudience.blogspot.com/2008/08/universal-comedy-flow-chart-by-doogie.html

The guy who did that chart is Doogie Horner.   He is a hilarious comic from Philadelphia.  I saw him the other week and he killed it even though he was playing to the worst room of drunk yelling assholes I've ever seen!

As a math guy, the way the axes are set up drives me nuts.  But as a caffeine addict I am fascinated.

Yeah, people talk about soda like its caffeine has anything to do with anything.  I get no kick whatsoever from a Mountain Dew, but a 12oz brewed Sumatra (made in the office with a splash of skim milk, 2tsp organic turbinado) gets me rolling every morning.  Rolling.

Green tea in the afternoon mellows me out.  I don't notice any caffeine.

I agree.  Something seems a little bit off there.  I drink green tea at night sometimes to calm down.  But if I drank a soda it would keep me up.

The only time I have ever noticed any caffeine have a real effect on me was when I had to do a midnight shift by the anagama kiln and I drank around 8 cups of coffee in one sitting. The caffeine and the ensuing result of multiple trips to the restroom definitely did the job and I stayed up for a looooong time.
But green tea? Noop.
