^ That is fucking awesome, RegJoe.  Nice work!

W-w-why thank you, sir!

Here is a corollary map to the one above that just popped up in my life, and I didn't search for. Apparently fat maps are really effective on peoples brains right now.

I'm surprised at Maine's number.  All the fancy people in the southern part of the state probably skewed the findings toward slenderness.

The leanest state has an obesity rate of ONLY 18.4%. Wow.

That's not THAT bad, is it? Less than 1 out of every 5 people is fat? I can tell you, just looking around my office, we're much, much, much higher than that.

I dunno. Maybe it's not so bad. Probably it depends on how "obesity" is defined.

I'm easily shocked, I guess.

The clinical definition of obesity is a body mass index* of 30 or higher.  To illustrate, if a 5' 6" person weighs 190 pounds, s/he has a BMI of 30.7.  It's not an entirely accurate measure because it doesn't take build into account.

*BMI is the body’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of the body’s height in meters.

So maybe 18.4% of Colorado residents are bodybuilders. Or at least, some of them could be.

That singles map does not bode well for my future in NY.

Yeah, but it looks like if you drive a half-hour north you'll be able to find plenty of dudes.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I wish--I'm in Buffalo. Apparently I need to switch coasts.

And I need to get the hell off the west coast! This place is one giant sausage-fest apparently.

So drive half an hour north and you'll be in Toronto! I know some single men there.
