That wasn't a shot at you, buddy. You did me a major solid by getting me that audition and I'll always be grateful.
For those who are interested, I came VERY close to getting the lead in a Jason Grote premiere at DC's best theater company. VERY close. But then I didn't get it, for reasons so obvious that I couldn't help but feel helpless and angry - you know, like all actors.
Not my best anecdote but there you go. That's what Jason and I had been speaking about in code for the last couple months. Of course I bear him no ill will at all, and you DC FOT should definitely go see the play in September. It's really amazing.
Thanks, Dorvid, you are sweet. In case anyone is wondering, he is an awesome actor, and it came down to experience. It was great to meet him, too, but compared to the other ways I've met FOT - at the WFMU record fair or at the station, over a $25 dessert, or at a Big Dipper concert - meeting for the first time over that audition table was probably the weirdest.
Also, in case you were wondering, Dorvid and I are that couple in FOTchan that didn't work out! But we'll always be friends.
Now, back to the topic.
EDIT: waitasec, Dorvid, did you edit your post? Anyway, good advice. I will keep that in mind if/when I call again.
