I've been listening to quite a bit of McLusky. You know, in between all of the strummy la la shit (c.f. Velocity Girl) I've been listening to.

Oh, I've also been listening to lots of Ted Leo on my iPod. Awww.

And Bad Brains, but mostly because I'm trying to remember if H.R.-as-a-closet-case was a fun rumor a friend made up, or if there's a grain of truth to it. Did anyone else hear that H.R. was found living with a boyfriend when he was approached about a Bad Brains reunion? I kind of want it to be true.

I've been listening to Chris Knox's "Not Given Lightly." I was catching up on Smallville episodes, when I got to the Lex and Lana wedding (which actually wasn't as awful as I was expecting, but I'm not looking forward to the Fight Club episode that's up next on my DVR. ICK. Worse than the Torchwood Weevil Fight Club? Weevil see. HA HA HA). Um, anyhow, I was CERTAIN they were playing the aforementioned Chris Knox song at the episode's conclusion, but no. It was some drippy song by some random broad I had never heard of. Which I'm okay with, because it would be kind of inappropriate to play that song after Lana marries Lex because Daddy Luthor threatened to Krypto Clarky to death or something if she didn't go through with the marriage.

So, I'm listening to this song over and over again on a loop, and I'm cracking up every time Chris Knox sings the words, "Oh how I wish you could be deep inside me," and I'm wondering if this song is about pegging, and I'm looking up the lyrics, and I came across this. Strangely enough, if I were to ever get hitched, this would totally be my spotlight dance song. It's either that or "Pay to Cum."

I had problems w/ the movie, but the Death Proof sdtk is great for when I feel like plowing directly into oncoming traffic. 

Also burned it w/ a fuzzed-out comp called "Eat My Angeldust: Biker Soundtrack Essentials."   There's a song on there that sounds sort of like "A Change is Gonna Come" except rewritten to be about "killing for Satan."

Please don't call David Kilgour mid 90s though- he's still putting out great records. A Barbara Manning box set is supposed to come out anytime now. I hope she records some new material soon. It's been a while since her last.
