After midnight, Pacific, so it was technically today.
I got in my car to drive home, and it wouldn't start. "Click, click, click." I'd had problems with the battery, so I popped the hood and noticed that it had jostled out of position. I moved it around, heard the "ding ding ding" telling me the door was open. I dropped the hood (as quietly as I could, since I was in a calm residential area) and drove off.
As I merged onto the freeway, I heard a sucking wind sound. The hood flew back, hitting the windshield and cracking it. I reached for the flashers (hitting the defroster instead). I sloooowly pulled to the shoulder, which didn't really exist here. As the car stopped, the battery died again, killing the lights. To get the hood to close again, I had to beat the bigger dents out with my fist. Meanwhile, other cars whizzed past, leaning on their horns.
I doubt this happened to you, and I'm glad. If you're interested in buying a '91 Corolla, hit me off list.
