Yeah, I lived there for a little more than a year right after college, while my then-girlfriend now-fiancee was finishing up her master's degree at SCAD. I worked at a coffee shop. Now she's returning the favor, working at a coffee shop while I'm in school.

And I never ate at the Paula Dean place, for the same reasons as MoS. There were plenty of other places just as good.
Southern food does some simple things really really well. Side dishes are never just an afterthought. But then some things that are done well elsewhere are botched to high heaven. Plus, for some reason a lot of southerners insist that barbecue sauce is "spicy." It's *tangy*, damn it!
