i'll jump on this train being conducted by "the lunatic".  especially when Rupert Murdock turns into "Uncle Rupert", and you can hear Tom say, "this is fantastic..."

And one of my favorite hang-ups ever, wherein Tom explains how GOMPing makes life worth living:

That is fantastic.  Lots of callers (angry) like the Goshen jerk last night. Ew boy.

Here's a good one from the 8/12/03 show. A little background since the entire call was too long to use: A very boring young man calls from a Home Depot and talks aimlessly about politics for awhile, prompting Tom to call him Dave Emory Jr. Tom asks him to put a Home Depot employee on the line, but Tom soon realizes something's not quite right with the heavily-accented man who comes on the line and a GOMP ensues.

I always thought a GOMPusa.com would be a good website to compile the whole show's worth of GOMP's, but that website is taken by something...else.

http://drop.io/trickytrickster

from 6-27-2006.

The kind of call where someone thinks he's not on the air, and Tom pretends to be various call screeners.

The full version is funny, but it mentions the M word.

The short version I like better, because out of context the way Tom talks to the caller is pretty great.

I'm trying to remember to isolate good GOMPs as I come across them.  Good, solid bread and butter GOMPs, not necessarily the super extreme ones.

Here are two more, from 9/19/2006:

Superhero costume GOMP, and John Starks GOMP.

This one's from the 3/25/08 show, where Steve from North Hollywood, after being GOMP'd earlier in the show, exhibits tremendous courage by calling back to participate in the "I love you, but..." topic. Things do not go well.

BTW, I'm not posting this to embarrass Steve or make him feel bad - I'm a fan of his calls and I was very glad to hear him call again last week. I just think it's a good GOMP.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Sorry to hog this thread, but I'm trying to post these as I run across them. This is an epic Captain Jack GOMP that comes at the end of the bonanza of bad callers that is the 6/3/03 show. Captain Jack tries to come on friendly, but Tom's not having it and the Captain Jack facade peels away, revealing the ugly horror beneath. The call ends with Tom GOMPing him at the top of his lungs before dissolving into a blubbering heap.

A few good ones. This one was from this real creep calling after the Iraq war was starting to unravel talking about how "you gotta" stand behind the war now that it has begun. Tom tries to talk with the guy for awhile, but eventually can't take it anymore and GOMPs him, so frustrated he's screaming (boy, can I relate to that). But the fun part comes after, when Tom puts the next call on the air without a word, leaving the guy frustrated in perhaps one of the most pathetic GOMPs ever:

And what Tom called "the most unfair GOMP ever" (in 2003), where he gomps someone for saying he'd like to see someone stab Ashton Kutcher after asking how funny it would be if Ashton Kutcher got stabbed.

I've been in a non-traditional GOMP mood lately such as the amazing H-Man GOMPs from last Tuesday.  Here is another non-traditional GOMP in which Tom GOMPs Michael Savage even though he isn't actually on his phone. http://www.sendspace.com/file/95t3ho

I included the whole call (about two minutes) to preserve the catharsis at the end. My God, did this guy deserve it.

From the show where Tom played Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety:
