That was a low blow, Stan, but I will pull myself up off the canvas.

And please, the term is internet macking, thank you very much.

Forrest, having not fared well myself in this area lately, I feel your pain. Also, I can't be expected to keep up with every newfangled term you damn kids come up with. Also, enough with the word posse. Unless you're armed on horseback riding with the sherrif and some like minded individuals after some bank robbers because it really has no place in that FreeCreditReport.com commercial, which, for some reason I blame you for.

 Also, get off my lawn.

I know, I know...I pledge money to the Best Show and WFMU because I want to, and it's the right thing to do. That's good enough by itself...

But it doesn't exempt me from being sad when I open the crumpled manila envelope to find a mangled poster, and a broken, limited edition CD. A little cardboard from Consolidated next time might prevent this...maybe.

Anyone else have a similarly sad experience with their Fun Pack? Reminds me of the Christmas morning when I got a toy gun that had a recording of a rifle shot built into it. Pull the trigger and  it sounded like a real cowboy gun! It worked three times, then broke. I've had enough character building, thank you.

That is a bummer.  I bet WFMU will replace it for you, though.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Thanks all. Jason, not sure if I even want to pursue replacement; make them ship another, the cost involved, the fact that it's a limited edition of 750, etc, etc...

Just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar thing happen, I guess.

Maybe someone could just tell me how funny it was, maybe that would do me. :)

My God. I'm nervous now. I'm going to go outside and try to befriend my local UPS driver... maybe grease the palms.

BTW, mine came by USPS (and they're usually pretty good, at least around here; I have a soft spot in my heart for them, even after this).

The envelope had no warnings on it, like DO NOT BEND or HANDLE WITH CARE or such.

Envelope? Mine came in a box.

Even if you don't want to request a new CD, you should alert them what happened so they can take precaution to pack things better (like in a box, not an envelope) in the future.

Ok, you're right, I'm gonna try to let someone know. Now that I hear some people got a box, and I got a crappy unpadded unstiffened-by-a-piece-of-cardboard manila envelope, I'm less sad, more pissed.

Itslikeimsayin--how did your poster fare? Was it in good shape? Mine was a crumpled mess, and it's a thing of beauty...

The t shirt came through just fine (maybe it was the padding)--though I don't think I'll ever have the guts to wear it in public. The sticker was good, too, of course.

My poster was perfect. It was in a box! :-)

You didn't mention the black FMU t-shirt for the $50 pledge. Did you not request it? If not, perhaps that's why your stuff fit in an envelope rather than a box.

Wait--whhaaaaattttt???...you mean I could have gotten another t shirt, too--an FMU one? Didn't know that was a possibility. I just got Tom's Fun Pack, for $75. That gave me the crumpled poster, broken CD, cool little sticker and the Scarface tee.

I'm actually laughing out loud right now, at how badly I did this. It's like the spirit of Hesh took me over.

A college colleague of mine (with no knowledge of TBSOWFMU) just asked if I heard the new Patton Oswalt cd he just downloaded.  >:(
