Does anyone have a copy of the LCD book?
« on: June 16, 2008, 03:28:01 PM »
FOT, I need your help. I need some choice quotes from the Jarmusch foreword in the LCD book! I'm currently on the road, and my book is safe at home on the shelf, and I desperately need to quote something from the foreword, anything that relates specifically to WFMU. "WFMU is the best!", that sort of thing. I know there's some good nuggets there.

(To be used in this context: "Jim Jarmusch is also a fan. 'WFMU is my favorite high school radio station', the director writes in his foreword to...". Like that.)

From the NYT article on WFMU's 50th anniversary:

Maybe the film director Jim Jarmusch is being hyperbolic when he proclaims, in the introduction to a book of WFMU art, writing and ephemera, “Hands down, WFMU is the greatest radio station on the planet.”

That's good, I forgot about that article. Thanks, Omar.

(Though if anyone's willing, I'd love one or two more.)

"WFMU celebrates the imagination and reclaims the gifts of expression often left lying around in the attics, basements, and ditches of our force-fed culture."
