I dont like that the M3u ripper doesnt work with version 3 because thats the way I listened to the Best Show on my Ipod.

Also sad that the allmusic add on doesnt work with the new version.

surely there is a extension that lets you keep track of the extensions/settings from one machine to another (or at least lets you back them up)  I always get it set up nice and then for some reason have to reinstall and lose everything and can never get it back the way I had it.

So I guess I'm looking for something that:
1) Lets me back up my settings and extensions
and
2) Maybe lets me sync them between the browsers on two different computers (like my work laptop and my desktop at the house)
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

I joined .Mac just to keep my different computors in sync, though Google bookmark sync might give you half of what you're looking for.

The STUPIDEST firefox extensions are the ones that turn the browser into something totally non-browser like or something that a standalone application or a regular old web app would be better at.  Like those RSS ones.  I also used to use this one file-sharing app that thought it a fine idea to live as a firefox extension.

I also like the extension that gives your browser a different name ever time you bring it up, like "powerwalrus"

I use:

Adblock Plus
IE Tab
Screen grab (lets you take a screenshot of an entire web page at once)
DownloadHelper (INCREDIBLY useful- lets you save most sorts of media [streaming audio, youtube, embedded video, etc.] with one click)
ColorZilla (mostly useless, but it gives you the exact color of anything in the browser)
And I have DownThemAll and the Imageshack toolbar installed but usually disabled.

What I really need is something that will automatically open mailto: links in Gmail. I used to have one that did that, but it was never updated to even FF2.

I'm pretty sure the Better Gmail 2 add-on will do this for you. One of the options says "Compose mailto: links in Gmail."
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

When I use Firefox I find these extensions helpful:

Flashblock stops all the 'DO U LIKE GEORGE BUSH? (YES) (NO)' banner ads
Platypus lets me do simple rewrites for A tags so I can skip ads and EditCSS helps me fiddle with the layout of things I work on.

Firebug and Charles are also pretty neat.

am I the only one having trouble installing flash on FireFox 3?  I've googled the hell out of it, but all I can find is shit about Ubuntu and beta versions of firefox 3

yep.  I've tried installing from the link, going direct to adobe's website, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc...   for some reason it won't work.

I've had some problems in the past installing flash in Firefox. First, try downloading the install file and installing with FF closed. Second, try updating Flash in IE. That actually worked for me a couple times.

flash still isn't working for me.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled every associated program in all different combinations.
