I'm listening to a bootleg of the Rolling Stones at Altamont. The strange thing is that after the killing of Meredith Hunter (which took place at the end of "Under My Thumb" and doesn't register on the audiotape at all), the performance takes off into the fucking stratosphere and is maybe the most incredible Stones concert I've ever heard, and I've heard a few.

Judas priest!  I only know that song through Judas Priest.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Ever do nothing and gain nothing from it?
Ever feel stupid and then know that you really are?
Ever think you're smart and then find out you aren't?
Ever play the fool and then find out that you're worse?

The new Devendra Banhart album "Mala" is near flawless. I guess breaking up with Natalie Portman brings out some killer songs in a fella! ;)

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Is it a universal truth that "Roadrunner" is on the shortlist of greatest songs ever written? I think so.

This is the "Roadrunner Thrice" version. I never heard this one until today. It's an 8 minute version of one of the definitive 2:30 songs. However, I think it's pretty much a masterpiece about the magic of being in love with the world as seen through the eyes of a kid driving in his car.

Anyways, I'm throwing this up here because it's about Massachusetts and Boston. This whole thing has hit home so absurdly much -- the guy who introduced me to The Best Show (and one of my closest friends) worked with Sean Collier, the MIT cop who was killed and knew him really well. The guys who did all this also lived a few blocks away from our old apartment and god knows how many times I walked right past their place.
