Robert Schneider eluded to the fact that NMH may be putting out another album sometime in the future.

WOAH. I don't want to get too hopeful for this... but... I can't help it... that would be amazing!

There have been all kinds of "allusions" like this since 2001, but I'm not sure it'll happen.  I mean, I think Mangum will release more music, just not under the NMH name.

Until then, there are plenty of other amazing E6 bands to check out.  There is also the Neutral Milk Hotel reunion show bootleg from 2001 in New Zealand, which is amazing and seems to be much too overlooked.

I'm not a chicken,  you're a turkey.

Laurie and Omar aren't the only ones who like twee crap, I like a lot of it too.  Case in point: "Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken" by Camera Obscura.  I think they're a pretty mediocre band, but this song is stunning:

I'm a sucker for handclaps and references to Lloyd Cole, sorry.

Some of my favorite music is twee crap.  But it's one of those areas where there are too many bands.  Knock it off with all the bands.

np: Lighthouse: Sad Line

If I was smarter, I would set up a DAT recorder and send it into Stochastic Hit Parade.

Lou Reed: Revien Cherie.

Thinking it would have made a pretty good wedding song.

Wishing that my wife and I weren't so drunk at our wedding that somehow my sister picked "When a Man Loves a Woman" and dragged our blitzed asses out to "dance" to it.

If you ever get married, make sure you pick your song BEFORE your sister does.

And Edith Piaf Hymne L'Amour just came on. I have a Frenchie-minded shuffle tonight.

That song's great. I actually think the whole album is great. They've got the girl-group sound down pat. The one before is good also, except when the dude in the band sings. Then it just sounded like boring watered down Belle and Sebastian. I think they might have figured that out, and that's why only the chick sings on the newer one.

Isn't that the configuration of one of John Cage's last pieces?

Sondre Lerche - Two Way Monologue

I am "pro" that Sondre Lerche jam.
Also, right now, I am enjoying, in another window, a second spin through Devandra Banhart's new video for Carmensita.

I'm listening to the awesome new Ratatat LP3 compete with my 24/7 air conditioner. Both of them are going on my top 10 list for 2008.

Hot Snakes, "If Credit's What Matters I'll Take Credit."  It's OK.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
