I generally recommend Crispin for any role that comes open. I wanted to see his Bond.

So would I. But it will never happen. Speilberg is too powerful.

...I just don't think I'm a superhero guy.   I enjoyed it up until Joker got arrested; I could have called it quits at that point.

I finally saws it and it was awesome. Until it went on too long. Its really unfortunate for any sequel of that movie that they killed Twoface. With the actor who played Joker to perfection (he really did, I thinks) dead, they've set this Batman up as so badass that I can't think of any Batman villians worthy of this franchise other than Twoface and Joker.

As for the Scarecrow thing, don't you think that was set-up for a later movie? They wouldn't have used a very good actor unless they were going to bring him back.

I realize this makes me stupid, but I stopped comprehending parts of the plot about halfway through. Once the joker got arrested, I assumed the story was wrapping up and kind of zoned out. By then I was exhausted by the noise, fistfights, explosions and growly dialogue.

I also got majorly distracted by two teenagers to the front-right of me who kept checking their fucking text messages and distracting me with the light from their phones. I finally stormed over and did something that'd make my dad proud: told them to turn the fucking things off, and they did, looking a little scared. I'm easily half their size and twice their age, FWIW.

I'm pretty sure Two Face is still alive- probably in Arkham. They only buried Harvey Dent.

i really liked the way they did two face in this one. I always bothered me how he just got acid thrown in his face and suddenly he's a crazy villain.

I think they came up with a really convincing back story that fit really well with the rest of the plot.

Two-Face as a self-pitying lapsed liberal is a pretty awesome character idea.  It would've been neat to see a whole movie of this either sniveling or slovering lunatic go on an extended wounded-feelings vengeance mission throughout Gotham.  But it would be a sort of sick pleasure.  As it was, I don't think his character was all that great.

I also pretty much thought it was over after the Joker got arrested.  The whole "He planned to get arrested!" thing didn't really set well with me.  I mean I could see him wanting to get arrested in order to access the Asian mobster guy (I guess...) even though he didn't really do anything with that guy except perch him on top of a big pile of money and set him on fire, but then why bother with the extended armored-car chase.  Also, what's up with that guy being like "I know who Batman is!" and getting on television in order to waffle about it for a half hour.  If I were Anthony Michael Hall I'd be like "Out with it, son!"

It was pretty awesome, though.

Anyone else reminded, just a teeny bit, of the squat evil clown from Spawn's old-timey tough-guy voice w/ Ledger's Joker?  Not even a little bit?

Also: I never really watched Spawn.

Count me in the "Pro" column w/r/t the Scarecrow cameo. I thought it was fun and unexpected, and a good way to sort of open up the universe and make it feel like the movies are taking place in a real city where stuff is going on whether we're watching or not, not just a world that switches on during the opening credits and then switches off at the end of the movie.

And it's a dead horse, but the PG-13 rating on that movie was indeed insane. Any movie where someone gets killed onscreen by having their face slammed down into an upright pen is pretty much an R. I'm sort of an old fogey about that kind of stuff, but still - yeesh.

I keep trying to do Christian Bale's ultraintense Batman voice for my girlfriend, but I always start cracking up before I get through any of the lines.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

I liked the Scarecrow cameo, and I'm also glad that Murphy showed up that afternoon for filming. It's always distracting when you can tell that the actor didn't want to do it, or had better things to do because they will keep the mask on and have a reasonably approximate voice-over. Kudos to Mt Murphy for the follow-through.

And isn't that how the comics always begin? You're always dropped into the story as Batman is mopping the floor with one of the other villains... then the real plot starts to take shape. It gives the viewer the impression that this just another day in the life.

Since they only have one other established bad guy, Scarecrow will have to do.

Also, I would suggest Gillian Anderson as the perfect Catwoman.

Or Crispin Glover.

Gillian Anderson would be super-foxy as Catwoman.

And Crispin Glover, actually, maybe could be nuts enough to pull off the role of the Joker.

Someone should tell Crispen Glover that he never was in Batman to begin with. That might be his problem.

I thought it was a half hour too long. It started to drag in the last quarter and I was wishing it would end.

I still think the 1st Tim Burton Batman movie was the best in recent (past 20 years) times. Jack Nicholson was a better joker.

I liked how long it was. I thought they throughly flushed out the story, it would have been cheesy to end it when Two-Face awoke in the hospital. I thought it might end there, but I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't.
