Up at the Villa
Jingle All the Way
Keeping the Faith
Garfield (no headphones)

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

One time I got Shakespeare in Love, which was ok.  The most recent ones: Jumper and Mad Money (no headphones).

I saw the first "Pirates of the Carribbean" on a plane and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Johnny Depp's hambone performance was big enough to punch through the tiny screen and the crappy sound on the headphones.

I think I saw a Will Ferrell movie on a plane that had some sporadic amusing moments ... the one where he's a hapless dad who becomes a soccer coach. Something like that. Coaching a kid's soccer team. What was that called? When did it come out? Did I actually see it on a plane? It all seems like a dream now ...

I was once on a flight that was too short for a full length movie so they decided to put on two episodes of Frasier followed by the Munsters. My headphones stayed firmly lodged in my walkman.

I'm always on short flights so I'm used to Continental's in-flight TV programming. Some days are better than others. So far, nothing that has been shown has gotten me to stop listening to my music, but bereft of my iPod, I could see myself plugging in for the occasional Simpsons or King of Queens.

Less tolerable are the interstitial music review segments, in which I'm offered Continental's take on the new Radiohead album.

"Interstitial"? What're you, Jesse Thorn?
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

The first time I took one of those cheap Chinatown busses between New York and DC -- about 6 or 7 years ago, I was one of the only non-Asian -- the in-bus movie was a karate-type bloodbath where they showed several limbs being cut off and one simulated rape.  I couldn't look away.

This was before those busses figured out white people wanted to watch movies like:
- Sliding Doors
- Failure to Launch

- Bend it Like Beckam
- Shreck 2
- 13 going on 30*
- The Family Stone
- School of Rock (overnight flight -- no headphones)

I enjoyed all of these movies. Get me in captivity and I'm a perfect audience for sub-par movies.

I once cried on a plane watching "The Great Debaters."  Without headphones.  And I'm not kidding.

What is wrong with me?

Forrest, your "Coming to America" experience had me chortling out loud at work.

I had a similar experience.  At one point, one guy killed another guy by winging a quarter at his head and embedding it into his forhead.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I saw parts of the beloved Steve Martin/Queen Latifah vehicle Bringing Down The House without headphones while on a plane.

In one part, Queen Latifah and this other lady got into a fight in a locker room, and it appeared that Queen Latifah picked the other lady up and impaled her on a coat hook sticking out of the wall, which seemed like a really odd direction for the movie to take at that point. But, I dunno, maybe it made sense with the dialogue and all.
This may be the year I will disappear.

The motivation was never made clear, but Latifah mentions later in the movie that she had the body fed to Eugene Levy's pigs.

I forgot "In Her Shoes"

Yeesh!  Just watched it silently.

And that one with Baked Ziti Jones and the handsome man from ER where they're trying to get a divorce.

Wait, on the bus or in the movie?

Actually it was on the bus.
