Spaced

My favourite TV show of all time is finally out today in the United States of America!
I'm glad, because I can finally retire my region 2 DVDs which are absolutely battered from being played and lent out over the last six years.
Even if you hate some of the commentators on there (and we all do), that's no reason not to buy this box set and play it repeatedly. Besides, the Wizard of Oswalt makes up for the bilge, right?

I mean it!

I'm not a big fan of Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead, and I'm very, very late to the Spaced party, aaand I'm only two-three episodes in...

but I think it's OK so far. Perhaps OK+.

I DVRed two episodes off BBC America last night and will watch those to see if it's worth buying (which it probably will be). For anybody who has BBC America and hasn't seen the show yet, it's airing every night for the next two weeks at 3:00AM and 3:30AM EST.

Even though I hate and love some of the people doing commentaries, I still feel like I need to know what dumb things Diablo Cody, Tarantino, and Kevin Smith have to say.

I downloaded the region 2 DVDs a while back so I'm very excited to get a real copy after work today.

I finally picked it up today. Watching the commentaries, and it's already a Edgar and QT exchanging celebrity stories/backslapping affair. Still, The Wizard of Oswalt is on the next episode!

Were hard-core fans originally pleased with how it ended? The final episode felt rushed.

The doc they did for the DVD set ties up the series perfectly.

I bought the DVDs and I've gotten through 5 episodes and I don't know how I feel about it yet.  It's fine, I'm just not really into it yet

(I bought it strictly because of Simon, but I really thought from the box that it was something a sitcom about space)
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

This is pretty much what I'm expecting based on their films.

A friend gave me some computer file versions of the whole series a couple of years ago and I think my boyfriend and I watched the whole thing in, like, 3 multi-multi-hour blocks. Couldn't stop watching it and were sad when it ended.

My legit DVDs are in the mail on it's way to me as we speak!

Stoked.

Definitely one of the best shows ever, in my opinion.
