Can anyone tell me what Tom's "connect" to Bye Bye Birdie is? Doesn't seem like a musical guy!

You don't know Tom. There was a show years ago when he played this like four times

Thanks, not that clay. I figured it had been a running joke at some point. I've only listened for a year or two. My question was, did he ever explain how he came to know that song, musical, etc....but not important enough for me to have even asked in the first place, so nevermind...

"Bye Bye Birdie" was a staple of premium cable channels in the early- and mid-80s. There were a few years where I'm pretty certain I watched it two or three times a month.

Tom also demanded a genius grant, after some other guy undeservedly got one, to stage his one-man show of Bye Bye Birdie. See the episode on March 6, 2012.

A movie that featured Paul Lynde as a father of three and also a guy whose superannuated mother was only two years older than his va-va-voom girlfriend.  That's Broadway Hollywood.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

The Peabody Duck Story.  Something about aquatic birds walking in a row in human environs makes Tom giddy.  Remember the story about the geese blocking traffic?

What was that "sneeze" reference he made with Gilgamesh at the end of the show when he was talking to Jason from Alabama.

I'm catching up on WTF w/ Marc Maron. The Huey Lewis episode has Huey singing the praises of Pigpen. Maybe this is what triggered the Pigpen in the first place. It would make a great addition to the audio collage.

I thought I knew what film he was talking about, but I had to look up the "Mel Ott" park, and Google sent me to a post on this very board:
