I had never listened to Keith and the Girl before. They were okay. The other guy that was there also...not for me.

Only just started the Kevin McDonald interview and I'm loving it so far.

edit after further listening:

Toronto's Sex Dwarf Alex started off kind of slow, but it turned great.

And the Bodeans Peeper: "Mr. Robot--have you ever watched that through somebody's window?"

Kevin McDonald was delightful, and I'm fairly certain the mentally ill woman who came to one of his workshops sat next to me at a KITH reunion show in the early 2000s.

That other guy with Keith and the Girl, though, was unpleasant.

Great episode, but yeah the guy that was with Keith and The Girl was awful. Really painful to listen to.

Michael K was out "Roy-ing" Philly Boy Roy on his call - dancing at a Todd Rundgren show and getting food thrown at him, "tripping balls" at an outdoor Tom Verlaine show . .

Phew, glad I wasn't alone about the second guy in the KATG interview. He seemed to be trying to take over the show the further as it went along.

Is that internet hosting service sponsor British? I have never heard anyone who wasn't British use "boffins" before.

The Kevin McDonald interview was so great. Really a highlight, an all time great moment for the show.

Michael K.'s call was pretty insane, even by Michael K. standards. Keith and the Girl and whoever was with them were okay guests, but mostly reminded me of why I don't listen to podcasts.

Another great thing from this week: "Good sleepin' weather, good peepin' weather."

Michael K's call reminded me of something- I went to a Wilco show (not a big fan, but it was free) and there were seats, but everyone stood up for the entire show. There wasn't even room to dance, they just stood. But I'd just gotten off of work and my feet hurt. I wanted to sit, but I also wanted to see the show so I had to stand.

The topic #identifyit was great, as was PBR's pope call.  It felt like a throwback BS, with no celebrity guests.  Love it.

Really loved the topic too, even though they did it on Seven Second Delay.

I'm sure we handled the topic exactly the same way.

The topic this week was fantastic. I really like topics that engage the audience while we are listening like the Top 50 lists and stuff like that.

Other highlights include Roy destroying the Vatican library, yet another peeper to end the show, Mike's new motorcycle persona, an epic sound collage, and the top notch Destroyer tunes.

I hope the sound collages eventually become five-hour do sets that confuse kids at EDM festivals. It's taken on a real dancey turn.

(Speaking of, anyone annotated all the samples yet?)

There's a thread on here that listed some of them, but I don't think it covers every one.

On the show, yes, I really liked the feel of it, it was like an old episode. Including the classic sign-off of "Tuesday has become Wednesday..."

Looking forward to more from Best Show 2.1!
