Who would've thought he would outlive John Denver?
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I really truly appreciated Tom saying that calling isn't a prerequisite to consider yourself a true fan. Of course, I intellectually knew that, but to hear Tom say it allows me to feel it as well.

I wonder whether James spent an hour weeping in a darkened room after that Jamesing.  Then masturbated to make himself fell better, then felt worse.

Tom's response to Mike calling out "I enjoyed it!": I enjoyed it.

Fixing A Hole Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

I remember seeing this scene a while back and noting how it is devoid of even a minor attempt at humor.  Burns is theoretically a "funnyman" yet all they have him do is sing and do a little shuffle.  Why bother?  Would it have taken that much more effort to add even a shred of slapstick or witty comment before or after the song?  It's like they had a checklist that included "Movie must star George Burns because people liked 'Oh God'."  They crossed that off and moved on.

"Between the Blood Wave and the Omega Pulse."

4-Loko-mas reminiscence is always welcome.

Fun show. I dig Hodgman. He was creditec with many things by Tom ("Actor, Activist, Naturist") but he left out "natural broadcaster." (as proved on the 4-loko-mas show)

I just loved their brief comic book tangent. "Stan Lee is a credit hog" jokes probably go over 95% of the listeners heads, but I like 'em. And the mere mention of Guy Gardner is enough to make me happy. Hodgman's geek image is no mere gimmick.

Didn't Tom also fake-credit Hodgman as a "philanthropist"? I loved that. Even if my head just made it up, I loved it.
If I tried, I could probably make at least six figures for shaking my moneymaker.

Not that it matters much, but howsabout these apples:

"THE BEST

The Best Show On WFMU
Cautionary tales about when practicing the dark arts goes wrong, a little John Hodgman, and Tom Scharpling’s thoughts about the worthlessness of Twitter: There’s a lot of wisdom provided on this week’s Best Show. Meanwhile, Scharpling’s challenge for one of the regulars to step up and provide a good call stays unanswered, but other callers give us plenty of ideas as to what films Orson Welles should have been in during the twilight of his life. Overall it’s good show this week—not the best Best Show, but once Scharpling conjures up that demon, you’d better watch out."

It's nice to hear the guy from Grand Rapids representin.'  I grew up near there, and never knew anybody as cool as that at the time.

You regularly need to tell people to hang up the phone on other people?  Sorry to hear you get such terrible calls, all the time.  You should contact the authorities if it gets to be a problem.
