This was a classic show. No worst moment was left uncoupled with a great moment. A sampling of the Best moments:
- "Apologize, you goon!...."  "Tom, it's Hatch" ".....oh, hi Hatch"
- "LAZER WHIP, LAZER WHIP, LAZER WHIP,......... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah."
- SYL JOHNSON(!!)
- "You know, I might just hang up on Syl Johnson. Everyone will remember that." (!!!!)
- "@The_Real_Pete_Seeger just saw my son in concert. Still the same, Bob. "
- Greggulator
- Morris

Vance discussing prog rock makes me very happy.

I howled at the lazerwhip, and that yell was like something equally out of science fiction. Based on his reaction, I really want to believe that it took Tom completely by surprise as well.

Along those lines...

Isn't it time that people stop calling with the sole intention of praising someone that Tom likes?

We all know that (Ted Leo, Julie Klausner, Paul F Tompkins, John Hodgman, Wild Flag, ect.) are geniuses at what they do, and nice people off stage.  If you go to one of their events and something interesting happens, then I say call.

But if every Ted Leo fan called in and said how great Ted Leo is, would that be much of a show?

I am listening now and it is pretty evident that Tom feels the same way.

MORRIS! He brought it.

The Lazer Whip. This should be a ringtone.

Syl and Tom's desire to hang up on him.

Vance's dissertations on prog rock.

Awesome. AWESOME. AWESOME!

This might be my favorite episode since Four Loko. (And that's saying something!)

The show didn't start until the Greggulator's at-bat (excepting the music and coverage from the gala in Newbridge): "hello Tom, this is the Greggulator and I've come to save you from a barrage of horrible callers".  Every caller before that (granted, I'm too chickenshit to call) was a cumulative worst moment, Morris was the highlight with his hybrid LDP/Boston accent dere/deah.  It might be worth considering dropping all regulations about regular callers.  I miss Laurie, Fredericks, Julie...I even miss Spike.  Spike!

And a special thanks to the Greggulator for specifically calling out that stupid fucking boring band (BANNED) from Richmond whose name I refuse to repeat.

Yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say he didn't see that coming. I can't remember the last time I heard him lose it like that during one of the JW calls.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I enjoyed Tom trolling the guy w/ 'Bob Seger is Pete Seeger's son! I'm reading the Wikipedia page here!'

After my five star flame out, I laughed pretty hard and the ensuing backlash, but had some unexpected guests that I hadn't seen in a while. They showed up JUST as Morris called in, dang.

I don't think I've ever had a good call, which I used to loathe and I wanted desperately to fix, but now I realize that it's kind of my calling to be gomp fodder.

C'mon bonnaventure, you've done fine. And even the best callers get the GOMP treatment.

This is the best I can do. Might try again later. Feel like there isn't enough Kruk in there...
