That review contains one of the most brain-damagingly stupid lines I have ever read: "Ribowsky spends too much space on boxing, a dying sport. . ."  Yeah, get hip, dude, boxing's over.  It's not like we're in the exciting days of the sport any longer, which were, um, DURING MOST OF COSELL'S CAREER, GENIUS.

Nixonland had WAY TOO MUCH focus on the early 70s.

Lots to like this week.

The current situation on the ground in Newbridge sounds fairly disturbing but I do hope that we get to hear some more about the Simian Liberation Army and their campaign. I need to know how Mayor Ziegler is doing.  I also really need to see that final episode of the Monkees.

I also like that Tom brought up an idea that Dave from Knoxville suggested some time ago - an on air/FOT dating service - and then immediately shot it back down again with basically the same conclusion that it would be a horrible idea.

Gary is the new Jason in showing up and stealing every show. (Although I'm sure Mike wishes he could call-screen Gary out of the show)

This Jeremiah caller is LITERALLY making my skin crawl.
It's like trying to snap a guy's neck while he's sitting on a swivel chair......impossible.

The main thing I liked about the idea was the name: Friends of Tom with Benefits

The Newbridge call this week was great, especially "Action Cushion." Also anytime a Wurster character refers to his father as "daddy" is hilarious to me.

I love that "he was tappin' that throaty, army chick from St. Elmo's Fire."

Action Cushion? Sounds like one of my names.

Forgive me if this is stating the obvious, but I think Gary really likes Mike and his hostility is just his confused way of showing it.

Who knows what's really going on inside the mind of a squirrel?

They're very high strung.

The pennywhistle slide to end Rick Sherman's call was off-the-charts hilarious. It was the perfect 'weird' audio for a call with way too much porn slang.

Callers who are not named as regular callers, but whom I almost always enjoy:

JonfromMaplewood
Mackro from Seattle
The Frank from Weehauken/Mike from Manhattan dynamic duo
Christina from Brooklyn

He was short-lived, but I also enjoyed the guy who tried to explain various Mexican foods to Tom.

I'm sure there are others.  You all make a nice break from the mutants, who are only funny in Tom's reaction to them.

Bwah! Just saw this. Thank you, Buffcoat.  You're too kind.

My favorite parts of this most recent episode:
1) The slide whistle. I was not expecting it at all and almost pulled the car over. I could not see because my eyes were so watered up.
2) For some reason, Gary saying "I'm currently unattached" had me in stitches.

Least favorite: That dope who kept interrupting Tom when Tom was laying out the story of "In the Air Tonight."  Although, in his defense, Phil did play drums on "In the Air Tonight" alongside Chester Thompson. I wish I didn't know that.
