"does he smirk"

The moments when David Rees delivered pencil lore with professorial precision were delightful and surreal in the context of the Best Show.

Last night's episode is a reminder of why the Best Show is so great. Who else would be able to take two hours of pencil talk and turn it into such engaging and entertaining radio?

I don't know why Mike continues to let that clown through. Steve wouldn't have!

Who knew that Baba O'Riley was the quintessential punk song?

I'm so torn on Zach:  He's awful and stupid as hell but he's the perfect person to Bad Company.   I want him to stop calling but I also don't, you know?

Harry from Milburn (now South Orange as of this week's call, I guess?) always sounds so defeated and hangdog that I start out every call of his kind of bummed out, but he does frequently surprise me and contribute something really funny.  Asking if Rees was smirking was so great.

What is he like when you screen his call?

I've only listened to the archives going back to about May 2011 and last night was only the third time I've listened live, but I think it was the best one of I've heard so far.

-The pencil talk went from what I thought was a joke to being completely engaging.
-Kurt and Gary's back and forth rivals that of Mike and Gary.
-I nearly lost it when the "Detroit Rock City" bass line made an appearance.  Poor Darren.

If I found out that Zach was self-aware and was just doing a gimmick it would ruin it for me entirely, so Mike, if that's the case, please don't tell
