31 and 42 respectively.

Jay-Dee passed on in 2006. Unless Spike meant somebody else. RIP.

I'm pretty sure Jay-Dee must be his Mad Magazine name for Jay-Z.  J. D., Juvenile Delinquent, get it?

Right!  I thought of it right away and forgot that they never got back around to it.

That is a really terrible song.

Yes, but it's so terrible it possesses a certain, seldom-reached rock grandeur, kinda like Hocus Pocus's "Focus."

Arguably the best Best Show of the year from ice cream music all the way to Tuesday becoming Wednesday.

- Evidently a lot of people took it really personally and negatively but Tom Bad Companying Ted Leo was the defined highlight
- Taylor from Denver's first date karaoke
- Tom singing BNL and Danne singing Stevie Wonder
- The hope that Spike's endorsement of Judge John Hodgman will make it on that podcast next week
- A.C. Newman working blue all night, esp. it leading to placenta

The Ted Leo Bad Company was hilarious. I didn't read it as ill will at all.

-All Dressed talk. It weirds me out as a Canadian (who has probably taken all dressed for granted) hear Americans talk about it as this foreign object.

-Five Easy Pieces/Fall Downing 2013.

Unfortunately, Jason Lytle (Grandaddy) is ahead of Tom and the gang with the "weekend" themed songs:

"we all take our karaoke lumps", a tossed-off aside, but so true.

Awesome show. Loved A.C. Newman dangerously walking the line of AP Mike territory with all the blue talk. Julie K always burns the house down, so many highlights.

Taylor's call was my favourite moment. Was that her first call? Amazing disclosure. Her karaoke nightmare will probably be Judd Apatow's entire next movie.

I just remembered the thing about the last five episodes of Breaking Bad being the first five episodes of Malcolm in the Middle. It seemed like pretty well worn territory at first but I can't stop laughing at the implication that Vince Gilligan is so dedicated to the bit that he runs with it for FIVE episodes when a lesser person would have ran with it for just the finale. A subtle indication of the way Tom's mind values dedication to a gag, which is why we love him.

A great show through and through, but Tom pulling a Clint Eastwood at the LA podcast convention takes the cake for me  ;D

It really was a Best Show for the ages. The helpless laughter that followed the announcement that Mike once performed "Streets of Philadelphia" at karaoke cracked my ess-hit right up. As did the the pitch for "12 Angry Danzas."

HOWEVER, I will defend that Danza-version of "12 Angry Men" until the day I die. I caught it on tv a month or so ago, and ended up watching the whole thing. Jack Lemmon! George C. Scott! James Gandolfini! Edward James Olmos! Directed by William Friedkin! It does get pretty stagy at times, but man alive. Compelling like an M-F.

Is there really a karaoke place with John Lennon's "Mother" in their system?  I have a hard time believing it, but the mental image of AP Mike getting up there and singing that song for karaoke makes me want to believe that it's true.

Spike's ringing endorsement of Hodgman's podcast was also a highlight
