EXCELLENT Show tonight!  Kristen Schaal and Philly Boy Roy calls were really great.

The difference in quality overall between the men callers and the women callers could NOT have stressed the metaphor better that having more women call (or a more diverse group of callers overall) is beneficial to the show's quality.  Taylor's call summed it up perfect: "Tom, you're experiencing what it's like to date online."  So, I say that's the BEST moment of the show tonight. And sure, Tom is a master of making dud dude calls go south in the most hilarious way.. I could hear that for a long time. But it really felt relieving to have non-dud calls tonight too, which happened to be 98% women tonight.

And of course, "THEEEEENK YOOOOU".. that was one of the funniest breakings I've heard in a long time.

The Bee Gees lyric bit gets better every time, and I don't know why.  Thankfully, they put out a ton of albums that could be future candidates for lyric spotting.

Hope Tom and everyone is doing better, and look forward to the next Best Show, whenever it is.

Shouldn't the Podcast already be up on iTunes?

Looking for podcast as well...had to work last night....I drive...and of course since tom's not on fmu anymore the signal was great everywhere; uppereastside, Brooklyn, upper Mongolia. while looking for podcast today found jim Florentines podcast "comedy metal midgets"! an interview with jim Norton....as tom would say " ohhh....brother" its on the glory hole radio network......yikes

Is there a point were Tom stops taking calls from guys?  This is absolutely brutal.  I'm about ready to turn it off and try it again later.  Did all the Idiocracy Truthers call in last night?

Hi Myrna Loy, are you new to the show? these are the callers.... what tom does with them has always been a big part of the best show. if you want to hear brutal calls go back in the archives 10 years ago. ideally you'll get 5 coughsyrup swilling/glue sniffer types in a row then a jon wurster call.....if everyone was clever and had an intelligent conversation with tom( of course you need a few of those in the mix as well) it would be a snoozefest

Nah, I've been a regular fan since 2004-ish.  I just don't recall a night of callers like last night (admittedly, my memory for show specifics like caller quality from 10 years ago has eroded some).  At least the coughsyrup swilling/glue sniffer types would maybe accidentally fall into something interesting.  That potential was always there.

Since the new Best Show the callers are especially somnambulant. The late-in-the-show caller nailed it about online dating dudes.  It seems it's been a good ol' regular from the 'FMU days, 2 or 3 bland dudes, a guest caller, 2 or 3 bland dudes, a call from Newbridge, 2 or 3 bland dudes, a woman, 1 bland dude, 1 interesting dude, ending with 3 or 4 bland dudes.  Something about the range of engaged listeners from the radio vs. from the internet makes most callers sound like zonked out nudniks.  They all sound the same, interchangeable, like Butthead with his backwash-laugh "uh...heh heh Tom? I'm I on? Uh..."

Tom made chicken salad from chicken squat with the Sunset Park dude.  The host sounded great last night despite the parade of cough syrup enthusiasts.
Vandalism! Sick vandalism! When I get my hands on the little punks I'm gonna hang them by their Buster Browns!

I love whenever they bring up the "Attention teachers and students" bit from SNL, it never fails to boggle my mind that it made it out of the writers room nevermind on air and into multiple skits.
