Last night's Candy show was triumphant.
Maybe it's because I was on hold for 2 hours filled with pre-call anxiety (the show ended before I could get on the show, and I'm not complaining about that ate all because that's part of the experience) but I called just before the cold wind and dripping faucet sections, and realized my contribution to the topic would be just trivial fluff, yet trivial fluff that somehow MATTERED in the universe of this show.
I don't know if either Tom downplayed how many much he prepared the arc of last night's show, or if it was all ad hoc, or a combo thereof. But it played out like a MUSICAL, if you figured in the Keane karaoke in the collage. (And this was right after the Tony Awards, so who knows.)
In the end, last night's show was unforgettable and a classic. Maybe not a fun classic, for reasons out of the show's control. But a solid -- if dark at times -- all-time best Best Show.
Jason's comment about old lovers was the LOL highlight of the show, if we're talking just LOL moments here.
