To answer your question, Laurie, I'm more of an El Duce figure.  At least I thought I was, until TL burst my bubble.

Shit, there goes my dream job.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I wouldn't take it too personal. TL takes Thug Jesus very seriously. I've heard some of his new songs live, and they're basically all about Him. If I'm interpreting the lyrics properly.

TL, if you come to Miami, we can make a pilgrimage to Thug Jesus. Hell, you could even play the White Room! It would be magical.

I couldn't remember which band El Duce was in, so I googled. This NSFW site came up. My favorite part is this:

Quote
The Church of El Duce is open to anyone to join with certain exceptions : no gayes, no children allowed as well : only sexually liberated swingers

No one named Gaye is allowed. That's oddly specific.

Did Spike start this thing?

Laurie, I don't understand your current occupation. What happened after you left the bank thing? Did you find a new gig?

That's what my mom wants to know.

In case you couldn't find it, Laurie: El Duce was the fat sweaty guy from a gross misogynist 80s hardcore band called The Mentors*, and as far as I could tell (from seeing them at City Gardens in 1987 and a cursory internet search), he was primarily there to defecate on stage.  Hence my erstwhile Thug Jesus gig, though I was hoping to do it classy.

Oh, and he murdered Kurt Cobain for Courtney Love.

*I'm sure there's a Mentors fan here somewhere, feel free to debate/correct me

Worse, still, it has my least favorite song: "Ye Sleeping Knights of Jesus."

Wow, after the title track, that's my favorite on that album. Different strokes! That would be a high quality desert island disc, though.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

Did the Earth-3 Grote write this?  I know I forget my posts all the time, but I don't think I've ever even heard that song.

"Johnny Sex Fuck?"

Yargh! There is no one worth meeting after midnight.

I've only been to Miami once, and I'm going to guess that's still considered PG-13.
