See what he did there?  He took "What A Wonderful World" and used it ironically.  Did you catch that?

Does anybody have high expectations for this? I don't even know if like the most liberal Bush-hating folks out there think the movie sounds like a good idea.

I don't think anyone had high hopes for an Oliver Stone movie in at least a decade. Maybe more.

Or too bad!
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

There is no doubt that I will be seeing this movie, most likely in the theater. I also look forward to Tom dissecting how bad this movie is in a 30 minute rant, since I think he won't be able to resist either.

I know when I see this I'll be waiting for James Cromwell's George Bush Sr. to start secretly killing cabinet members.

I always loved the NIXON movie, but I like it more as grand guignol schlock than as a historical or political think piece. And also because having the late great JT Walsh and James Woods together in the same scene reaches a critical mass of evil sleaziness that's impossible to resist.

But seriously, this is going to be awesome to the max. It's about time somebody out there had the guts to take on "The Shrub", as I like to call him. Also, I heard Andy Milonakis is going to be making a cameo as Antonin Scalia.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

I think that Stone's political movies are the best ones he makes. Even if I don't agree with the message, I am always amazed at how well the film is put together.  I'm a big fan of "JFK". By all rights, it should have been a dull film. No real action, lots of interviews and research and an occasional court room yelling match, but I think it's absolutely beautiful and fast paced.

"Nixon" was a pretty good show too. I saw it for the first time recently, and was surprised that Stone didn't paint him as a cruel and sadistic devil (which is what I had expected from an Oliver Stone/Nixon film)

I hope "W" is at the very least an interesting flick.

Why wasn't this movie made in 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006?  What was he waiting for?  Didn't we already know everything we needed to know about this "character" for Ollie Stone to make this?  Maybe he was too busy doing the pre-pro for his upcoming Pablo Escobar movie.

Exactly. He's gotten soft. Whatever happened to "Crazy" Oliver? Go back to the rails, start hanging out with John Milius again, whydontcha?

I think it's a perfect time to put this out. It'll cap off a terrible presidency and maybe even add some fuel to the fire. If it would have been released two or three years ago, it would have been polarizing, but now almost everyone agrees that the administration was horrible so maybe even conservatives can watch it with an open mind.

I just hope it plays Grindhouse style with Fahrenheit 9/11 2.
