A couple of months ago, I was ambling through Greenpoint when I came across a very friendly cat. Last year I lost both of my longtime cat friends to... death..., since then I've being trying to help amicable strays who cross my path find a new homes until I come across one which I connect with.
This Greenpoint cat, Scratch(y), practically jumped into my arms. She seemed so personable, I was at first convinced that she belonged to someone who just let her roam. But when I saw a dude beat her with a bag of groceries, I decided to take her in.
The next day, while packing her up to go to the vet, I realized that she was with child. A couple of weeks later and I've got this on my hands:

So. I've got a bushel of kittens and one cat that need homes. You can see more pictures here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28469715@N04/Scratch is 2 years old and drug and disease free. She is outgoing to the point of fearlessness. So far she seems to be very agressive with other cats but this is probably somewhat hormonal and may be less of an issue once she is fixed. Quite the opposite with humans. She's got a nice close coat, minimal shedding.
There are 7 kittens. They were born on the 3rd of July and would be adoptable after Labor Day. Priority would go to anyone who was willing to adopt a pair (or Scratch +1 kitten) and can demonstrate that they will be capable cat owners and/or not a complete monster.
