Is it wrong that I think Kat Dennings is totally adorable?

(Not that I'm planning to see this movie or anything.)

she's cute.

why would it be wrong? she's like twenty something i think. are you an old man?

Well, I have about 10 years on her but it's more that I feel like a tool anytime I salivate over a Hollywood actress.

But yes, I feel slightly like a dirty old man as well.

I don't know, this movie doesn't look that bad.   :-\

It's just the whole cartoon letters thing.  And "Infinite Playlist" is a pretty bad coupling of words.  It looks like this kid lives the life of Lane Meyers in Better Off Dead, then it moves to Can't Hardly Get Dazed And Confused In The City.  Could be worse.

I dunno about this Infinite Playlist business, but I'll give Michael Cera the benefit of the doubt until he swings at three strikes. The kid is as naturally hilarious as any actor out there, and I'll continue to hope he isn't just about to throw that away on a string of bad projects. (Also: Kat Dennings is very charming.)

I don't think it makes much sense to lay any of this at Juno's feet, though. For better or worse (mostly worse) the overpraised-"indie"-flick-stuffed-with-quirkiness-and-painfully-cute-dialogue train has been chugging down the tracks long before Juno hit the scene. You just try and watch IFC or the Sundance Channel for a few hours at a time on any given weekend afternoon (and most of the movies you'll see certainly pre-date Juno).
Use your head, can't you, use your head! You're on earth, there's no cure for that!

This picture kinda reminds me of my 20 year old model neighbor and her revolving cast of L.A. rock scene douche bag suitors.

Michael Cera is going to be Scott Pilgrim, which I'm totally psyched for.

I'm nervous about Michael Cera as Pilgrim. As stated elsewhere on the board, Cera basically plays George Michael Bluth in every role he's done. This isn't a big deal to me; lots of actors do it, and I like his persona. The problem is, I don't think the Cera persona fits with Scott Pilgrim as I imagine him.

It is being directed by Edgar Wright, which is perfect. Also, the girl they got to play Ramona is also pretty spot-on, at least looks-wise.

Michael Cera!  Scott Pilgrim!  I am as totally psyched for this as you are.  Michael Cera is the perfect hapless, funny, honest guy to be Scott Pilgrim.  I can see him both trouncing evil ex-boyfriends in fights and having to sleep in the same bed as his roommate because he doesn't have his life together.  I cannot wait for this movie, and I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
I fell in love with the books when Scott Pilgrim had to fight the vegan ex-boyfriend and, during the fight, the vegan ex-boyfriend starts shooting lasers out of his eyes.  Scott Pilgrim looks up, terrified, and says "He can shoot lasers out of his eyes!" and his friends shrug and say, "Yeah, he's vegan."
When people ask me why I'm vegan, I tell them I can shoot lasers out of my eyes.

That is the perfect title for a terrible movie. Arrgh. I hate that title.

Sooooooooooooooooo, this was never intended to be a thread about Nick and Norah, but about Tom being right about stuff.  So, might I add, that the world is, indeed, in the turlet?

The world is in the turlet  AND  Nick and Norah's (while not as terrible as Juno) definitely falls into the category of Juno Run-off.

Where's Fluffy!!!*

I do have to give Cera props though.  His characters seem to be climbing the sex ladder faster and faster.

In Superbad, he almost scored and ultimately wound up with the girl he had a crush on for years.

In Juno, he got his best friend pregnant.

In Nick and Norah's, he ... I can't even say it here.  It's too filthy.

LA Rock scene - you know, twenty years after the fact you'd think the taint would be gone from that term, but it isn't really.
