I'm a "Sam's Club" Anarchist

At the RNC, Governor Pawlenty kept referring to how McCain is a "Sam's Club Republican". I couldn't help but think how that would actually be offensive to me if I were a Republican. The offensive part would be being associated w/ one of the richest families on earth who are known to kill small towns by undercutting mom and pops (this isn't news).

But then I realized that I, on rare occasions, have used the Sam's Club card that my daddy gave me to buy fresh produce for my family. It's so good there and it's priced OK. I'm in the upper midwest so finding good produce at a decent price can be difficult.

Are there any Sam's Club "**insert political affiliation other than GOP**" out there?

And I'm most an independent, not an anarchist.

No, but I do know that Sam's Club is pathetic compared to Costco.

Not just in terms of business ethics, but Costco actually makes sure it doesn't stock junk just because it's cheap.

I think this whole election cycle is defined by rampant identity politics, that are too often reenforced by the media.  Whether it's hockey moms, nascar dads, walmart moms, starbucks democrats vs. dunkin donuts democrats, or the wine and cheese crowd vs. the beer and pretzel crowd.

I'm comfortably in my little demographic niche as a beer and cheese, hockey son, costco, dunkin donuts democrat.

I think The Onion, as usual, has it all figured out.
