Ringo is tired of signing all of the shit that gets sent to him, so he posted a warning today on his website.

I feel for the guy. I bet that at least a few hours a week was probably dedicated to this task. It's not like the olden days either, where a person kept an autograph to themselves as a keepsake. You know within minutes of receiving something back from the dude, it'll be up on Ebay.

He seemed drunk to me. Did he seem drunk to you guys?

The last memory I have of him is when he played Mr. Conductor 20 years ago.

 He's changed a bit.

The official story is that he's a recovered alcoholic ... I tend to believe it. His mannerisms might show some residual effects from his years of heavy drinking. Also, to be frank, he's getting pretty old.

I saw him at Taste of Minnesota 6 or 7 years ago and he ended his show with a big talk about his recovery and sang the No-No Song. Hopefully, he's stayed the course!

I think he could have explained why he's not going to sign. He came off pretty unfriendly even though anybody should be able to understand that the guy needs some space.

I'm assuming it goes without saying that "I'm warning you, with peace and love" will be next year's official Best Show slogan.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

"Peace and Love" never sounded more like "Fuck you", ever. Now I'll never get my life sized John Lennon floatee signed.

He's excused.  Let the man enjoy his golden years however he sees fit, I say.

Maybe this is an urban legend, but it was always my understanding that circumstances surrounding George Harrison's monumental "All Things Must Pass" was him retiring to a castle to be left alone and putting up a sign that said "Fuck off" in like 20 different languages.  If true, George definitely gets the leg up on the Peace and Love -> Fuck You angle.   :D

I wasn't condemning him for growing old. Ringo always seemed like a pretty swell guy to me. Amongst the Beatles, he always seemed like the one who'd be most fun to have a beer with to hang out with.

Not judging anyone here.  This totally would have been appropriate for the "good for you" topic, I think.

Good for you, Ringo.  Anyone who really wanted/needed your signature have had ample opportunity.

Bad timing for the Chiller Theatre Expo -- Ringo was slated to sign on Sunday -- but they've replaced him with Ellen Sandweiss!

I have a snare-head autographed by that guy. Thanks for making me feel guilty about it, Mr 4/4 Time.
