Life Lessons via Tom
« on: October 20, 2008, 08:11:29 PM »
Two pieces of wisdom that I have glinted from the Best Show.
While at work, when things start to drag - 'splash some cold water on one's face'.
Top Notch. TOP NOTCH.

Now, the latest.
The egg-timer.
Productivity is up at the salt mines.

Following Tom's directives, I've actually splashed cold water on my face on occasion, I'll admit it. It works. Good advice.

This is a great thread, there have to be TONS of these. The one that first comes to mind for me is the general ability to go from complete indignant frustration to pleasant indifference in under a second. It's a really handy skill for keeping people on their toes in a conversation. Thanks, Best Show!

I was very sorry when you died, but I was glad that they didn't bury you in the "Fox" makeup.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

sometimes you have to take one step back to take two steps forward

I don't have kids, but when I do, I'll be sure to utilize Toms two-step parenting technique:

1) ask my kid to pick an object
2) beat them with that object

i'd like to see a revamp of 'my two dads' with spike and tom and their butting heads over advice and rules.

wait, what's the opposite of like?

Mean does not equal funny.

16 year-olds calling the show, while in a car on the way to the premiere of their major motion picture release, might not make for a quality call.

Steve! I have been meaning to tell you! We did this thing at my school the other day where you were given a box of tic tacs and you had to go around trading them for things of slightly greater value until you ended up with something awesome (that was then auctioned off for charity). My friend Grant and I traded an old alarm clock for a copy of Drillbit Taylor, which we subsequently traded for...um...two rolls of toilet paper (it was nothing personal, i swear!).

The woman we gave the DVD to (to whom we gave the DVD?) was pretty excited about it! Like, actually. I wanted to tell her I was two degrees away from one of the kids but I couldn't remember which one was your charge.

Hey, at least it wound up in appreciative hands.  I'm a little miffed at the DVD itself.  Nate was told to make some funny videos that could be put into the special features.  So, we shot a video about me being his actual bodyguard and even added some Drillbit Taylor promotional stuff and put it on Funnyordie.com ... But it's not even on the special edition DVD :( ... which I have ... which I did not pay for.

Oh and ...

Nate Hartley, you Drillbitadummy.

Samiiiiiiiiiiiirrr!!! (shakes fist)  ;)
