Doesn't it?  He's obviously high.  Some folks pour themselves into their work, when life at home sucks.  When their life at work isn't fruitful either, this happens.  Classic burnout.  It's great that none of his "friends" are stepping in. I pray someones looking out for him.

I'm doubtful this is a hoax. The Phoenix family grew up on a commune run by that Children of God cult. There's a documentary called Children of God: Lost & Found that was put out a couple of years ago. I really want to see it. Pretty much all I know about it is from Rose McGowan's interview with Howard Stern and skimming that Wikipedia entry just a few minutes ago, but it looks like pretty much everything Ms. McGowan said is probably true. No, Dave's reaction gave it away - the way he was laughing and playing early on. It was immediately clear like 3 questions into the interview something was up, and Dave wouldn't have kept that up otherwise. It was definitely some business, of what I'm not sure, and how "in on it" Dave was is debatable, but this wasn't a Dave vs Cher moment at all. When Dave hates someone, he makes no qualms or jokes about it, at least not like he was last night, he'll just shit on someone flat out.

Remember, nobody hates celebrities like David Michael Letterman, nobody.
