I adopted a dog because of Tom

Sort of. I had been thinking about it, and I was at the adoption place playing with this adorable dog with a broken pelvis, and I remembered Tom saying something about how people should adopt dogs, so I did it. Some off-handed comment he made was the straw in regard to that particular camel's back.

That is a true story.

Tom not only adopts dogs but he also donates to the ASPCA. Last year I did a fund drive and he was my biggest contributor!! (Ted Leo was a close second... my dad came in third :) )

I'm a sucker for any animal but cats win by virtue of not stinking of low tide like dogs sometimes do.

I'm pretty sure that's because you can't just copy off more kittens from your laptop. If science ever finds a way to make that happen, they should burn the documents. There are too many homeless animals already!

Kitten breath is also why there are laptops. They thought all of this through ahead of time.
