Tom : "The Wire" :: You : ??

What is the thing that you are sure is fantastic but you will not watch/listen to?

I have never heard a single track off of Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. I feel like it couldn't possibly meet the expectations that its admirers have built up for it.

It's an old one, but Titanic. I still won't see it, either. That movie was shoved down peoples throats way too hard.

I finally caved in and downloaded this album. It sounds like dumb children's music.

I've never seen Titanic either, but it's not like I expect it to be good.

Ulysses is like a prison shower; you've got to pay attention to where the bar of soap goes. Yes! I just came up with that!

I've never read Ulysses for it's reputation for indulgence.  Sounds like a great book for scholars but is it fun to read?  I've always had my doubts.  I don't doubt that it probably is the greatest English-language literary work though.

I've never seen Titanic, Jaws or E.T.  I've only heard one or two NMH songs and thought it sounded like MBV meets TMBG.  MBV good, TMBG barf.

I can't be an advocate for in the aeroplane over the sea. I was the perfect audience for it when it came out and was completely obsessed with it, now I can barely listen to it without dry heaving. I think you may have just missed the bus.

A local librarian has one of the images from the album cover tattooed on her arm from elbow to shoulder. She's going to regret that when she tries to join the farden club in 30 years.

I still haven't seen a single episode of The Sopranos as I generally don't like mafiosi films.

Neutral Milk Hotel's Hitler Drumhead is OK, I suppose. Bit much.

Ditto on Sopranos - watched the first three-four episodes when it first aired, didn't feel it, stopped. I realize it's a great show and all, but I can't get into it now.

Lost - My friend said it was like 'TV crack'. More like 'TV ASS-crack' if you ask me. I think it was in it's second season so we rented the first season DVDs. We made it through about five episodes and the formula became oh so stale. Didn't like the characters, didn't like the dialog and didn't give a flying fig about the monster in the jungle. I like a mystery but talk about dragging it out. BO-ring.
