Fredericks' Den?
« on: January 01, 2009, 11:29:15 PM »
Okay folks, I don't know about you, but I felt myself strangely satisfied by this quasi-segment via Newport Richie on the show last week.
But! I wanna know what the Friends Of Tom think.
Should this be encouraged? Or am I just fueling some kind of terrible fire?

I think a place where people can get together and really talk about their Fredericks related issues is a great idea!

My issue: While I'm pretty sure that he isn't anything like this fellow, every time I hear his voice I'm so strongly reminded of a time in my childhood, when at a friend of the families beach party, I watched a guy who had been really friendly to me get ragingly drunk and choke another guy with the handle of a bullwhip (he didn't kill him, fyi). At the time I wasn't scared, but just in awe of this crazy, red-faced force of nature who could be both the life of the party, and a Roadhouse style bad-ass who would just choke a guy out at the drop of a hat.

I guess what I'm saying is that NPR seems kind of "choke-you-with-a-bullwhip friendly" to me, and I'm still in awe of that kind of thing.

Fredricks needs to get lost... I love that Tom even tried to turn him in to the new No Smokin Joe and it didnt even work.

This guy is at 14 min.

Lets hope minute 15 comes soon.

Yes

Or am I just fueling some kind of terrible fire?

Yes.

I hope he's at 14 seconds of his 15 minutes.  He is genuine...for now.

I think Fredericks appeared out of a wormhole near the end of last night's SU, W.  Maybe even twice.
Yup. Uh huh. That's whatever it is you were talking about for you

As I drove down to my parents' place the other day, 'The World is in the Turlet' came on the iPod right at the NPR exit.

Coincidence? OR PROPHESY???

I propose it is synchronicity Samir.

From Wikipedia:
The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by their meaning. Since meaning is a complex mental construction, subject to conscious and subconscious influence, not every correlation in the grouping of events by meaning needs to have an explanation in terms of cause and effect.

Another example of synchronicity: Sting's crazed expression every time the camera is on him makes me think of Fredricks.

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
